Railroad Visitor Center to Reopen

Allegheny Portage Railroad’s summit-level visitors center will reopen at 1 p.m. Friday at the national historic site near Gallitzin. This event will take place, rain or shine, outside on the plaza and will include several guest speakers, a ribbon-cutting, original songs by Ranger Greg Zaborowski and a few other surprises. After the ribbon-cutting, participants will be invited inside to view the new exhibits. The visitor center will remain closed until the ceremony concludes. This reopening event is free. Reservations are not required. For more information, call 886-6150.
