New Casino Coming To Centre County

Casinos across Pennsylvania reopened yesterday morning after a three week closure ordered by Gov. Tom Wolf in another of what many are now calling… in light of the continuing increase in coronavirus positive test results… misguided governance. While the opening of casinos again in Pennsylvania is certainly big news, an even bigger story locally in Centre County, was the announcement yesterday by Ballys, of plans to build a $120 million mini-casino near Penn State University. Balllys announced that it has signed a framework agreement with a real estate and private equity investor, to jointly design, develop, construct and manage the new casino. So far, Bally’s has not provided the exact location for the planned casino… only saying that it will be near the Nittany Mall in State College. Constructioin is expected to begin in the first half of this year and will take approximately one year to complete. When finished, it will have up to 750 slot machines and 30 table games and also provide retail sports betting, online sports betting and online gaming.
