Prison guards in one Pennsylvania county are now being equipped with body cameras. Dauphin County officials say the guards started wearing the body cameras yesterday after supervisors went through a test-run last month. The cameras will not be constantly recording, but guards are being advised to turn them on whenever they have an interaction with an inmate or if a situation escalates within the prison. Guards also have to turn the cameras on if any inmate asks them to. A five-year contract for the new cameras was approved in 2019. It will cost the prison about 565-thousand-dollars for 125 new camera systems.
