BLAIR COUNTY COUPLE HAS FELONY CHARGES DISMISSED

Blair County President Judge Elizabth A. Doyle has dismissed felony child endangerment charges against a couple from Freedom Township whose 36 day old baby died in 2019 while he was sleeping with his parents. State Police conducted an investigation at the time of the incident, and charged the baby’s parents… 37 year old Robert Zeth and 29 year old Elizabeth McIntyre, with felony counts of conspiracy to endanger the welfare of a child, and endangering the welfare of a child. The couple was also facing charges of recklessly endangering another person. Judge Doyle has now dismissed the felony charges, saying there was no evidence of a conspiracy by the parents to endanger the welfare of the child. She also agreed with defense lawyers, who said there was no evidence that the parents had endangered their baby by placing the child in their bed. They will still each be tried on the misdemeanor charges of recklessly endangering another person, conspiracy to tampering with evidence, and tampering with evidence, and McIntyre also still faces a charge of criminal use of a communications facility.
