PHYSICAL DISTURBANCE LEADS LOGAN TOWNSHIP MAN TO JAIL

A report of a physical disturbance at Schoolhouse Avenue in Logan Township on Valentines Day, led to the arrest of one man. Police say 24 year old James Messner assaulted a woman there after getting into an argument and then fled on foot. He was later found at the Frankstown Sheetz, where he had a glass methamphetamine pipe in his back pocket. He was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. When police returned to the original location of the first report, they discovered broken furniture and items strewn everywhere. A woman complained of injuries, and told police that Messner had placed his arms around her neck and began to choke her to the point that she could not breathe, telling her “That’s what’s supposed to happen.” Messner is now behind bars, charged with simple assault, harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $15,000 cash.
