Altoona Police arrested 22 year old TERRELL WILLIAMS of Johnstown on Sunday when they pulled over a car for traveling the wrong way on a one-way road. WILLIAMS was a passenger in the vehicle and seemed reluctant to place his hands on the dash when requested, and he also had a large object in his pants pocket. When he was asked to step out of the vehicle, police say Williams reached towards his waist band several times and refused to place his hands on the hood of the vehicle. He then took of running, and pulled a loaded .45 caliber handgun from his pants and tossed it on the ground. After pursuit, WILLIAMS was apprehended. Turns out, the handgun had one round in the chamber with an additional 11 rounds in the magazine. The serial number on the firearm was obliterated. WILLIAMS was treated at UPMC Altoona for asthma related issues following the foot pursuit, and then he was given a room at the Blair County Prison. WILLIAMS is charged with a long string of firearms offenses, Escape, Flight to Avoid Apprehension, and other charges. He remains in the Blair County Prison in lieu of $150,000 cash bail.
