RENT AND UTILITY ASSISTANCE COMING TO BLAIR COUNTY

Blair County has gotten a little more than $8 million from the state Department of Human Services… with the money earmarked to help cover rent and utility bills for county residents who have been negatively affected by COVID-19. Blair County Community Action has been chosen by the county commissioners, to be the designated agency that will now take applications from tenants and landlords and to determine if they’re eligible for assistance under the Emergency Rental Assistance Program. If you think you are eligible and would like to find out more information, program qualifications and an application are posted online at www.blaircap.org, or you can call 814-946-3651. To be eligible, your household income must be at or below 80 percent of the Blair County area median income, which means a one-person household could have an annual income of $36,350 and still qualify. For a two-person household, the income must be less than $41,550 annually.
