TEA PARTY UPDATES

The Blair County Tea Party has a new meeting location. The group will now meet at the American Legion Social Hall in Hollidaysburg. Regular meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 pm. This month’s meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 23rd, when local Tea Party President Rhonda Holland will lead a discussion about ways the media manipulates and misleads the public. She’ll show examples of how news stories can be shaded in one direction or the other by their choices of headlines, captions and emphasis. Bring your own examples to share. Bonita Shreve, President of the Blair County 2nd Amendment Coalition, will also share her group’s plan to establish a 2nd Amendment sanctuary in Blair County. This was an issue that was gaining a lot of momentum prior to the COVID-19 shutdowns. Given recent calls for more restrictive and possibly unconstitutional gun control laws, the group says it is incumbent upon us to protect our natural right of self-protection now more than ever. The monthly meetings are free and open to the public. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available for those who want them. There is plenty of free parking at the American Legion Social Hall.
