Hollidaysburg Man Arrested For Electronic Stalking

A Hollidaysburg man has been arrested by police who say he tracked his coworkers’ whereabouts using electronic devices that he hid under their vehicles and harassed them with text messages for more than a year. 46 year old Donald Byers now faces charges including stalking, harassment and disorderly conduct. The whole thing came to light when the victims… after enduring months of strange messages and other communications indicating that someone knew exactly where they were… even when one of them was in Florida… each found electronic tracking devices magnetically attached to the bottom of their vehicles. Search warrants were issued, and that led to police finding evidence linking Byers to the purchase and maintenance of the tracking devices. In Byers’ home, police discovered packaging for one of the tracking devices, stickers matching those attached to the male victim’s vehicle and a trailer, along with multiple cellphones and numerous keys tagged with the male victim’s phone number. Byers was taken into custody, but later posted $40,000 cash bail.
