A Franciscan priest with connections to Loretto, has been arrested on some very disturbing charges. 59 year old Third Order Fanciscan Father David Morrier is now facing charges in connection with the rape and sexual assault against an individual with mental illness that had been under his care. Morrier was charged last week in Ohio, with one count of rape and two counts of sexual battery. The assaults are said to have taken plce from November 2010 through the spring of 2013. Morrier was a former campus minister at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio until June 2014 when he was re-located and named the Parochial Vicar of a Catholic Church in Arlington, Texas. The Diocese of Steubenville now admits that it first became aware of the case in November 2018 and began an investigation then.
