The trial begins today for a Hollidaysburg area man accused of murdering a woman whose body was found back in 2004 at Canoe Creek State Park. Jury selection in Blair County Court wrapped up on Monday for the trial of Paul Ross, who is accused of killing 26-year-old Tina Miller of Hollidaysburg in 2004. Ross was initially convicted of first-degree murder in 2005 in connection with Miller’s death, but in 2011, the state Superior Court vacated the conviction and awarded Ross a new trial. But for much of the past decade since then, Ross’ new trial has been on hold pending disagreements over the 2011 ruling. Prosecutors say however, that their case against Ross is a strong one. Blair County President Judge Elizabeth Doyle will preside over Ross’ new trial now, which is set to begin today.
