A police investigation is underway after shots were fired in Altoona Wednesday afternoon. Nobody was hurt. Altoona police say it happened yesterday around 4:15pm at the intersection Fifth Avenue and 10th Street. So far, investigators have learned that two people on bicycles got in some sort of a verbal altercation with a man in a parked vehicle. Police say one of the people on a bicycle pulled out a handgun and fired at least three shots at the man in the vehicle. The shooter then fled on foot. The other took off on is bike, which he ditched shortly afterward. Three 9mm shell casings were recovered. Anyone with information is asked to call the Altoona Police Department at 814-949-2490.
