Several cars of a freight train derailed in Altoona, but no injuries were reported. Four cars reportedly came off the track in downtown Altoona at about 10:30 Friday night. The Norfolk Southern train was hauling coal, and the track is said to have been in need of repairs. According to Altoona firefighters, there were no concerns about hazardous material. Nobody was hurt and the cleanup continues.
