Drugs & Weapons Seized In Tyrone Raids

The Blair County Drug Task Force… while executing search warrants in Tyrone Borough, turned up nearly $7,000 worth of illegal drugs, a loaded handgun and about $2,650 in cash. 42 year old Richard Ewing of Tyrone was taken into custody. When police searched Ewing, they learned that he was carrying methamphetamine, $330 in cash, phycodelic mushrooms, and a loaded handgun in a bag. Due to a previous criminal conviction, he was prohibited from possessing a gun. When they went inside his house, police found a large amount of meth, more marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. A woman who told police that she was Ewing’s wife, was questioned and she told them that she also owned ahouse on Bald Eagle Avenue where there was a safe that only Ewing had the key for. When police got a search warrant for that property, they found cash in the safe, along with more marijuana, drug paraphernalia, packaging materials and a bag containing a white powdery substance believed to be meth. Ewing now faces a string of felony charges, and he is behind bars in the Blair County Prison, where he is being held on $80,000 straight cash bail.
