We Have Election Results!

In a county-wide contested Republican Primary , Incumbent Robin Patton fended off a challenge by Bill Straesser (STRAY-sir). In the race for Altoona City Council, the top four vote-getters on the Republican side were Incumbents Dave Butterbaugh (BUTTER-baw) and Bruce Kelley, followed by Dave Ellis and Ron Beatty.

For the Altoona Area School Board, the order of finish was Stephanie McGinnis, Val Mignogna (Min-YAWN), Kelly Irwin Adams, and David Francis. For the Democrats, Val Mignogna (Min-YAWN), David Franics, Stephanie McGinnis and Tina Johnston. For Hollidaysburg Area School Board, the top Democratic slate was Scott Brenamen, Ronald Sommer (Summer), Christopher Garman and Jennifer Costanza. The Republican top four were Costanza, Brenamen, Carmen Bilek (BILL-ick) and Sommer (Summer). For Allegheny Township Supervisor, challenger Joseph Harties (HAR-tice) beat incumbent Donald Fowkes (Folks).
For Hollidaysburg Borough Council, Ward 2, Sean Burke has a 5-vote lead over Kirk Saleme (Sah-lame).
Logan Township Supervisor, incumbent Ed Frontino won over challenger Ed Kruez (Cruise), Jr. For Tyrone Borough Mayor, incumbent William Latchford won over challenger Charles Mills, Jr. The top 3 for Tyrone Borough Council were David Snyder, Sarah Dane and Homer Kann. The Republican nominee for Justice of the PA Supreme Court will be Kevin Brobson. Blair County voted by a much wider margin than the rest of the state, voting Yes for the two constitutional amendments to limit Governors’ powers to declare and extend emergency declarations without approval of the General Assembly. The third amendment of Equality of Rights passed state-wide and locally. The Act making Municipal Fire and EMS companies eligible for loans under a program originally designed for volunteer companies also passed in PA and Blair County. There are several thousand mail-in ballots in Blair County alone yet to be counted throughout this week which could affect close races.
