2 ALTOONA RESIDENTS ARRESTED FOR BOSCOV THEFTS

Two people from Altoona have been arrested and are now facing felony charges after police say they tried to rip off Boscov’s last month. 38 year old Lisa Schmidt and 34 year old Quaaim Joyner are each now charged with one felony count of criminal conspiracy and one felony count of retail theft, after an investigation was begun following an incident that took place back on June 16th, when a witness told police they watched Schmidt pick out several items of clothing, then hand them off to Joyner, who carried them into a fitting room. Not long after that, the witness says Schmidt entered the fitting room with a duffel bag, and when she came out, the duffel bag was fuller than when she entered. A member of Boscov’s loss prevention staff approached the two in the parking lot as they were leaving the store with the duffel bag. They then returned all the stuff they didn’t pay for… which added up to about $600 worth.
