A former Altoona Area School District assistant soccer coach is now trying again to reduce the length of her sex offender registration requirement. 32 year old Kyla Hollingshead wants a hearing in Blair County Court for a 10-year registration period to replace a lifetime registration requirement that she still claims shouldn’t have been imposed in the first place. Her latest petition is the second attempt she has made in her effort to correct what she calls an illegal sentence. A hearing to review Hollingshead’s petition was scheduled to be held yesterday, but Judge Timothy M. Sullivan put that heareing on hold after Hollingshead said she has secured an attorney to represent her. Hollingshead’s lifetime sexual offender registration requirement was imposed in 2014 after a hearing in which she was deemed to be a sexually violent predator in a case for which she did jail time after being accused of engaging in improper relationships with two soccer players…. a 15-year-old girl in 2010 and a 16-year-old girl in 2012.
