An Altoona man was arrested after an early morning raid at his home yesterday. 34 year old Joshua Matt is now facing 50 felony charges related to child pornography after detectives seized hundreds of images and video files of child pornography from his house on the 3000 Block of Burgoon Road in Altoona. Matt also was charged with one felony count of criminal use of a communication facility. Yesterday’s raid came after authorities received a tip back in April from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children… claiming that Matt uploaded a sexually eplicit child pornography file on Discord… a social media platform designed for gamers. Detectives executed a search warrant on Matt’s home Thursday morning, but he was not home at the time… He was at work, where he was taken into custody yesterday morning around 7:20. Police say he admitted his guilt…. telling investigators that he initially used the Discord platform for gaming purposes, but then began using it to obtain child pornography. Now, Matt is being held behind bars in the Blair County Prison on $75,000 cash bail.
