Police say a Claysburg man was driving while distracted by a social media message on his phone when he slammed into a parked car and then drove through a garage door. They also say he was under the influence. 31-year-old Marcus Beeman was driving on Bedford Street in Greenfield Township, when police say he became distracted when he looked down at his phone to read a social media message. That’s when they say he plowed into a parked car. But that wasn’t the end of it. Beeman continued on and then drove right through the garage door of a business. Police suspect Beeman had also been drinking. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Police say charges are pending.
