An Altoona resident and former music teacher has pled guilty to sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy back in 2007. Now 81 year old Richard Kuiawa has admitted his guilt to every charge that prosecutors leveled against him after an investigation was started in 2018 when the victim came forward, and told police that it all began back when he was just 14. Kuiawa’s trial was scheduled to begin next week but after he admitted his guilt on Friday, that guilty plea on all charges was offered in exchange for a sentence of one to two years in prison, followed by 20 years probation. Kuiawa will also be required to register his address, employment information, and other life details with the Pennsylvania State Police for the remainder of his life.
