GAME COMMISSION SEARCHING FOR WALLABY ON THE LOOSE IN PA

Here in Pennsylvania, we often have to deal with invasive species, but this one is a little more strange than normal. The Game Commission says a wallaby is running loose in eastern Lebanon County. The animal – which some have described as a baby kangaroo, has been spotted several times over the last week in the Mount Zion area of Bethel Township. Game Wardens are trying to capture the animal to get it transferred to a facility that can properly care for it or, at least get it returned to an owner. But so far, no one has come forward to say that they’re missing a marsupial. Wallabys are native to Australia, not Pennsylvania. There is a way to legally possess a wallaby here though. The Game Commission is advising people to avoid direct contact with the animal if spotted. Instead, they ask that anyone who does see it, report where and when the animal was spotted.
