An Altoona couple is facing charges after two young children were found wandering the streets. According to a criminal complaint filed by the Altoona Police Department, the incident happened in June when officers were called to Willow Ave. after two young children were reportedly playing in the street unsupervised.
Police say they followed the kids back to a home on 5th Street where they found the front door to be open. Officers say they entered the home and followed the children to the second and third floors where they saw two more kids who were lying on mattresses on the floor. Eventually, police say they found 38-year-old Tayna Carmona-Andino and 39-year-old Carl Vega asleep on the top floor. Both Carmona-Andino and Vega are facing multiple felony charges related to child endangerment.
