State police say a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Centre County over the weekend led to the arrest of a man wanted for homicide in New York. Authorities say 21-year-old Albert Johnson has been charged for driving under the influence, resisting arrest and having drugs. According to a criminal complaint, troopers were called to the I-80 rest area in Snot Shoe Township just after 4 p.m. Once on scene, state police say they found a disabled Mercedes Benz with a California license plate that had hit a curb and was blocking a lane at the rest area. They say Johnson was facing charges in multiple states and was wanted in New York for homicide.
Johnson is now being held in the Centre County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail.
