Authorities have identified the person killed in an Altoona fire Tuesday night.
According to the Blair County Coroner’s Office, Mark Stuart died in the fire that happened at a home on East Fifth Ave around 6:30 p.m. Chief Deputy Coroner Paul Kerns said Stuart’s cause of death was smoke inhalation. Two firefighters were also injured in the blaze. They were taken to UPMC Altoona to be treated for minor injuries. Officials say the house is a total loss and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
