Officils Warn of Trooper Fundraising Scams

Following the deaths of two Pennsylvania troopers, officials are warning about organizations pretending to raise money to benefit the fallen troopers’ families.
Authorities say 33-year-old Trooper Martin Mack III and 29-year-old Trooper Branden Sisca were killed early Monday morning when a vehicle struck them as they tried to help a pedestrian along Interstate 95. The pedestrian was also killed. Now, officials say criminals are trying to exploit the tragedy. PSP officials say “People are reporting to us that they’re receiving phone calls from people alleging to represent law enforcement organizations that are raising money to benefit the families of our fallen brothers,” this from Pennsylvania State Troopers Association President David Kennedy. “The public should not make donations or provide personal information to these callers.”
