Trial Delayed in Altoona Shooting

Blair County District Attorney Pete Weeks confirmed that jury selection for the trial of an Altoona man accused of shooting another man in the neck during a dispute in February of 2020 has been delayed. Timothy McLendon, 30, was charged with attempted homicide after he allegedly shot another man at a home along the 1700 block of 6th Ave. in Altoona. Authorities say McLendon and the victim had reportedly engaged in a verbal altercation that quickly escalated. The DA’s office says Judge Jackie Bernard granted the defense’s motion to delay jury selection, which was originally scheduled for next week, with the trial scheduled to begin in October. Jury selection is now scheduled for mid-November.
