Altoona Police say last Thursday night just before 9, they assisted PA State Parole and the PA Office of Attorney General with an open investigation involving 41yr old ANTHONY BROWN of Philadelphia. An officer with the State Parole Department observed BROWN in Altoona and attempted to make contact with him as got out of a vehicle. When the agent identified himself, BROWN fled on foot, leading officers on a pursuit. During that pursuit BROWN discarded several items as he ran. BROWN was finally nabbed at 6th Ave. and 17th St. Officers and agents collected 3 white wrappers in a nearby yard that BROWN threw as he ran. Those wrappers contained 421 individually packaged bags of heroin. BROWN also had $920 in cash which was seized. BROWN is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver, Escape, and other drug related charges. He is now behind bars in the Blair County Prison.
