Game Commission Schedules Virtual Meeting – Sunday Hunting Changes On Agenda

The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners will meet virtually on Saturday, January 23rd, and among the topics of discussion will be more Sunday hunting opportunities this year. The commission has proposed expanding the species that may be hunted on 2 of the 3 Sundays this time around. In addition to archery hunting for deer, on Sunday, November 14, hunters would be permitted to also hunt squirrel, grouse, rabbit, pheasant, woodchuck, opossum, skunk, weasel, raccoon and porcupine. And, on Sunday November 21, in addition to bear, they would also be permitted hunt for that same list of other animals. Commissioners also will consider allowing hunters and furtakers to carry digital hunting licenses and hunters could also be able to buy a fourth antlerless deer license over the counter on the second Monday in September. All those changes will be considered as proposed rulemaking at the January 23 meeting. Visit the Pennsylvania Game Commission website for information on how you can watch the virtual meeting live.
