A buyer reportedly now has an option on the former Altoona Kmart building. According to printed reports, a managing partner of the owner says a so called “established national business” has tentatively contracted to buy the former Kmart building, and they are now “performing due diligence.” If all goes according to plan, they plan to close on the deal sometime in August or September. The potential buyer’s name has not been revealed due to a confidentiality agreement. If the deal does go through, it would be the third attempt to sell what originally was a 13 acre property since Kmart shut down a few years ago. Since then, it has been cut up into three seperate lots.
