An Altoona man who is facing charges in connection with the theft of a car last weekend, told Altoona Police that the Pennsylvania State Police gave him permission to use the vehicle… 48 year old John Snarski III is now in the Blair County Prison under a $50,000 cash bail, and facing a string of felony charges, after police got a call Saturday morning about a stolen vehicle on Fairway Drive. The owner told officers that he had left the keys in his Chevy Trailblazer, and it was stolen just minutes after he and a friend parked it at a local business. Surveillance footage showed a person wearing a camouflage hoodie, who turned out to be Snarski, getting in it and driving off. When police stopped him, he first said he was a member of the “Animals” gang. He claimed he was given permission to use the vehicle to visit his children by the state police. Snarski left the keys and $5 that he said was “for gas” in the console.
