More Charges Filed In Arson/Murder Case

In Coalport, an accused arsonist is now facing homicide charges. 36 year old Mark Gallaher is accused of setting a fire that killed 33 year old Matthew Troxell of Patton at a home in Coalport on April 16. The original charges he was facing were withdrawn on Thursday, and a new case was filed that includes four counts of homicide, two counts of arson-cause of death, five counts of arson, four counts of aggravated arson, causing a catastrophe, four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of criminal mischief, and four counts of recklessly endangering another person. A new affidavit of probable cause states that Troxell’s cause of death was smoke inhalation and lists the manner of his death as homicide. Gallaher has been in custody since Sunday. He is being held behind bars in the Clearfield County Jail without bail. He was found shortly after the fire at a nearby by, where witnesses say he was talking about it. One witness even told police that she heard Gallaher say he “torched the place.”
