State Senators Come Out Swinging Against “Vaccine Passports”

Some Republican lawmakers here in the Keystone State are introducing a bill that would ban Pennsylvania from requiring “vaccine passports.” A bill has been introduced in the state senate… cosponsored by our own Senator Judy Ward, that if passed, would prevent the state, counties, municipalities or school districts from requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccinations. The group of senators released statements yesterday, citing individual privacy concerns and concerns over government intrusion as to why they are pushing for its passage. They all agree that the goal should be focused on getting the vaccine to those who want it, but not to punish those who have made a personal choice. They also say that anyone who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons for instance, or for that matter personal choice, should not be discriminated against for making a decision that they believe is in the best interest of their health and safety. They point to the fact that under federal law, a person must be given the option to accept or refuse vaccines.
