ONE DEATH CONFIRMED IN TYRONE EXPLOSION

One death has now been confirmed in connection with that fiery blast Monday in Tyrone. As Tyrone Police, the state fire marshal’s office, and People’s Natural Gas work to determine the cause of the gas leak that caused the huge explosion in the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Tyrone on Monday, an autopsy will hopefully identify the victim. Witnesses say they heard a woman screaming for help from inside the house that exploded and then caught fire. They also say they never saw her emerge from the home. On Tuesday, workers with People’s Natural Gas were testing for gas and trying to evacuate it from the soil and sewer lines in the area where the explosion took place.
