A Hollidaysburg man has been arrested for setting his roommate’s couch on fire and crashing a neighbor’s vehicle. 43 year old David Watt is now facing a list of felony counts including arson, risking a catastrophe, theft, receiving stolen property, and other charges. Police say Watt started the fire after he tried to evict the roomate from his home in Hollidaysburg. According to neighbors, Watt first tossed some of his roomate’s belongings outside, then set fire to the couch… which was fully engulfed in flames when police arrived. Police were able to put it out quickly with a fire extinguisher, but not before it did some damage to the building. According to one neighbor who caught it on video, Watt used a handheld propane torch to ignite the fire. Police also say that in a seperate incident earlier the same day, Watt stole his neighbor’s truck that was parked on White Street and crashed it on Charger Highway near Autumn Estates. Police found beer and marijuana residue in the truck. Watt is now in the Blair County Prison, where he is being held on $100,000 cash bail.
