State police say a Duncansville man was fatally shot after exchanging gunfire with troopers. According to state police, troopers were called for a welfare check Sunday at a home on the 200 block of Burket Drive in Bloomfield Township.
Troopers say they arrived on scene just after 4 p.m. at which point the man, identified as 44-year-old Jacob Curry, barricaded himself in the house and fired a gun at responding officers. They say Curry continued to fire at troopers, so they returned fire fatally wounding him.
