Altoona Man Faces Assault Charges and More

An Altoona man is facing multiple charges after assaulting another man before attempting to break into his home while intoxicated on Wednesday. According to a criminal complaint, Ryan Vaughn, 32, was found on the mans front porch, where Vaughn’s 6-month-old child and ex-girlfriend were staying. The criminal complaint states that Vaughn did not have permission to be at the residence and that a verbal altercation began. Police said that Vaughn then punched the victim in the face, the victim then pushed Vaughn away, but Vaughn continued to approach him. Police said that Vaughn was found walking in the 15th St. and 1st Ave. area, slurring his words and displaying poor motor skills once police arrived, and needed treatment for the deep laceration to his arm and was taken to UPMC Altoona. Court dockets also show that Vaughn is being held at the Blair County Prison after being unable to post bail.
