Altoona Man Faces Decades in Prison on Child Porn Charges

Authorities with the Blair County District Attorney’s office say Jeffrey Snaman, of Altoona, was sentenced to serve 56 to 112 years in state prison for his “collection” of over 1,500 images and 124 videos of child pornography. Snaman was convicted by a jury in July on more than 30 counts of possession of child pornography, and related charges. Altoona Police began an investigation on Snaman in December of 2019 after responding to his home for a suicide attempt by another resident. Investigators say they found drug paraphernalia inside the home and obtained a warrant to search the rest of the residence where they found nearly a dozen thumb drives and other digital devices containing the images and videos.
