Child Porn Charge for Duncansville Man

A run-in with UPMC police in Altoona after reports of someone filming patients in the ER has led to a child pornography charge for a Duncansville man. 57 year old Hugo Richard Derosa is facing one charge of child pornography and was released with unsecured bail set at $10,000.

Altoona City Council Approves Trails Grant

The Altoona City Council approved the submission of the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program grant application at their meeting Monday evening. If approved, the money would go toward the Horseshoe Mountain Bike Trail Project. The project would bring new biking trails to Blair County.

Altoona Volunteers Cleaned Up

Volunteers gathered at Heritage Plaza in Downtown Altoona early Saturday morning as part of Redd Up Altoona to help clean up litter around the city. The event was organized through Facebook as volunteers formed groups and chose sections of the city to survey.

Altoona Group Helps Nab Predator

A Johnstown man is in prison after being accused of trying to meet what he thought was a 15-year-old girl for sex. Once at the scene officers spoke with the group Altoona Predator Hunters. According to the group, they had been posing as a 15-year-old while messaging the suspect.
