Altoona Man Lives with Corpse For 3 Days Before Arrest

An Altoona man, 51 yerar old Raymond Oeschsle, is under arrest after police say he admitted to killing a neighbor and then living with the corpse for three days until police were called by another neighbor about a burglary. Police, were called to an apartment on 8th Avenue Wednesday around 3:49 p.m.

Man Accused of Attacking People at Blue-White Game

A man is accused of attacking emergency service personnel and a trooper in a parking lot while drunk during Penn State’s annual Blue-White game April 15th. 20-year-old Thomas Wycoski, of Luzerne County, was trying to fight people while he was intoxicated in the Beaver Stadium parking lot.

Pair Going to Trial Soon in Altoona Double Homicide

A man and a woman accused of an Altoona double homicide in 2020 are expected to be put on trial later this year. Jury selection for the trial against Isiah Payne, 34, and Onya Lewis, 34, is slated to begin on July 24. A trial date has yet to be provided.

Drug Take Back Event a Huge Success

Results of the spring 2023 drug take back event from this past Saturday are in. This cooperative effort between law enforcement and our community has yielded a total of 283.8 lbs of prescription drugs being disposed of safely. Altoona Police took in 41 pounds while the Blair County Sheriff’s Office took in over 67 pounds.

Altoona Man Charged with Attacking Father

An Altoona man is behind bars after being accused of attacking his father during a heated argument. 44-year-old Carlos Lawrence is facing strangulation and aggravated assault charges as well as escape, fleeing, and resisting after police arrived at the home. He is now in the Blair County Prison.

Family Home Burned in Frandstown Township

Firefighters were called to a garage fire Sunday night that led to fire reaching the attic of the family’s home. The call came in around 11:30 p.m. for a garage fire on Axelle Street and Scotch Valley Road in Frankstown Township. No word on the cause, and no injuries.

Shooting in Johnstown

Authorities in Johnstown say a shooting in the Moxham neighborhood of Johnstown sent one person to the hospital Sunday evening. Authorities say the shooting happened near Coleman Avenue and Bond Street. The condition of the victim is unknown at this time.

Bridge Dedication in Clearfield County

The bridge which crosses Muddy Run as part of the Tyrone Pike/State Route 729 in Clearfield County, was officially dedicated as the TSGT Arthur K. Stiles Memorial Bridge. State Rep.
