Altoona Woman Gets Stuck in Donation Box

Allegheny Township Police had to rescue an Altoona woman from a clothing donation box on Wednesday located in the parking lot off of Parkview Lane. Crews arrived to find a 43-year-old woman stuck inside the box. Police are continuing to investigate how the woman ended up in the box and charges are pending.

Bedford Co. DA Resigns

Authorities in Bedford County announced that Leslie Childers-Potts has resigned from her position as the Bedford County District Attorney. The Bedford County DA’s office has faced scrutiny in recent months following multiple mistrials. Dwight Diehl, who formerly served as the county’s lead prosecutor, will replace her.

Fetterman Hospitalized After Feeling Lightheaded

Sen. John Fetterman, who had a stroke during his campaign last year, has been hospitalized after feeling lightheaded while attending a Democratic retreat. Initial tests at George Washington University Hospital did not show evidence of a new stroke according to officials Wednesday night.

A Hollidaysburg woman is accused of insurance fraud after the Office of the Attorney General said she added a vehicle to her policy after a crash and tried to make a claim. The investigation into Anastasia Morris, 42, began after Altoona police were called to a crash on Dec. 2, 2021.

Hundreds of food products from salads to fruit cups are being recalled in Pennsylvania and eight other states after the Fresh Ideation Food Group LLC in Baltimore found Listeria in tested samples. All recalled products have a Fresh Creative Cuisine label and a sell-through date ranging from January 31st through February 6th.

Teen Arrested in Westmont Helltop Case
