Altoona Man says Child Porn was Research for Book

An Altoona man, who is facing 50 felony counts of child pornography, claims the images were research for a book he was writing, according to the Office of the Attorney General. 69-year-old Dennis Page is facing 50 felony charges of child porn and one felony charge of criminal use of communications.

Car Recovered but Not the Suspect

State Police in Huntingdon County announced today that authorities have recovered the vehicle belonging to 40-year-old Jedediah Rawlings. Rawlings is wanted for allegedly threatening troopers with knives during a traffic stop earlier this week. Police say Rawlings is still at large. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact PSP Huntingdon.

WHSD dismissed students at 11 a.m. under “police supervision,” this after a “threatening note” was found taped to a door. Altoona Bar Owner says Friend Tried to Extort Him

An Altoona bar owner called 9-1-1 after he was allegedly threatened by an old friend in an attempt to get 30% of his business, according to police. Ryan Hollingsworth, 52, of Altoona, was charged with extortion and terroristic threats after an incident at McGarvey’s bar in Altoona on Thursday.

New Centre Co. Casino, One Step Closer

The developers of a new casino in Centre County cleared a major hurdle Wednesday with the state’s gaming control board approving a license for the casino. It’s a $127 million project that would include 750 slot machines, 30 table games and sports betting. Construction is expected to take a full year.
